We have three different groups at PALS:
- Fun Factory
- PYC Club
- 18+ Group
You can find out more about the types of activities each group take part in below.
Our Fun Factory club, for children aged from five to 11, runs weekly activities, including:
- craft sessions - where we make and create
- cooking sessions - where children get the chance to learn basic cookery skills
- indoor games and sports - which allow the children to develop physical and team work skills
- interactive workshops from local businesses and charities
PALS Youth Club (PYC)
When young people reach 11 years old, they can join our PYC group, which is aimed at increasing their independence and social opportunities. The club meets twice a month on a Friday night, and offers the chance to relax, meet up with friends, play a game of football or rounders or play on our Wii console.
PYC is split into two age ranges, 11 to 16 and 16 to 18. We run separate sessions for each age range, with an overlap between the sessions so everyone can get to know each other.
The 18+ Group
The 18+ group get together once a month to socialise and relax, with members deciding what they would like to do. Regular choices include:
- trips to local pubs
- meals out
- movie nights
The activities provided give children and young people the opportunity to develop socially, but also give parents a well earned break and time with other members of the family. Members are left in the capable hands of our team.
We are not a respite service, but we are here for your child to make friends and have fun!
Parents are expected to provide transport for their child to activities, but for some events we do include transport to the activity from a set meeting point, particularly when we’re going somewhere out of the area.
